We input unstructured and semi-structured data (such as email, social streams, and documents) into our platform which marries social network analysis to machine learning techniques and text analytics to find abstracted knowledge. This knowledge (people, topics, timing, social graph, etc.) can then be used to analyze and understand what's important to you in the data as text with the social context brings out the true meaning of the data.

When it comes to data processing, we have distributed the processing using Apache Hadoop, which is used by Fortune 500 companies to process and analyze petabytes of data. Further, our real-time distributed text search and analysis technology is built on top of Apache Solr, which supports indexes of hundreds of millions of documents. In short, our use of open source technology enables IT.com's products to analyze and search documents far more quickly and reliably than our competitors' proprietary, custom-built solutions.
